Occasionally oats are also added to this list due to cross contamination when grains are harvested and processed.

How can I find out if I have a sensitivity to Gluten?
Most commonly, a blood test for food allergies is done, testing for IgE and IgG antibodies. This testing let’s you know your specific level of reactivity and according to your results, you may be recommended to avoid certain foods for a time to give your health a boost!
The other option is to do an allergy elimination diet with no gluten for a period of 4 weeks, followed by a challenge phase to see how your body reacts to this re-introduction of gluten.
Are there other factors that can pre-dispose a person to not tolerate gluten?
Yes, celiac disease is a genetically linked auto-immune disorder of the small intestine that is triggered by eating gluten. If you have Celiac disease and you consume gluten, an inflammatory reaction is produced in your digestive tract and can lead to many long term consequences such as nutrient deficiencies, poor immunity and chronic illness.
