My online sessions will be between 9am-6pm every Tuesday and Thursday
I am a first-generation immigrant, storyteller and artist who has lived and worked in Asia, Vancouver and in Canada's Arctic; where I worked to bring powerful Indigenous voices to broadcast and print media. This experience taught me deep empathy and listening, propelling my journey into yoga and somatic therapy training, followed by a master's in Counselling Psychology.
In between, I survived cancer, divorce, and marginalization trauma, and learnt to emerge with resilience, humour, curiosity, and self-compassion. I now infuse these ingredients into my evidence-based work with clients.
I facilitate embodied-mindfulness workshops for national cancer support organizations, and corporate clients such as Gallup Inc., and Google Asia.
In private practice, I provide trauma-informed counseling and somatic therapy, specializing in anxiety and depression, life/relationship transitions, cancer, LGBTQIA2S+, and BIPOC concerns, with a focus on attachment issues, burnout and grief. Navigating post-cancer sexuality issues ignited my passion to pursue sex-positive, pleasure-oriented healing for myself and others. As an interdisciplinary artist, I delight in how art making holds space for creative expression and emotional liberation.
Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is to create a welcoming space filled with warmth, respect, safety and non-judgement; where you can feel unconditionally supported to explore your lived experiences, thoughts, and feelings. Collaboratively, we will identify your needs and understand what blocks your authentic self-expression. We will find safe ways to attune to your body, regulating your nervous system to find more easeful ways to navigate challenging emotions and sensations. You will feel empowered by your insights and better resource from your strengths, enhancing your connection with yourself and others.
Treatment modalities I draw from are integrative, scientifically validated, and humanistic; they include Mindfulness-based Self-Compassion, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment, MBCT, CBT and Somatic Therapy. Self-compassion is an alchemical ingredient for sustainable change — in feeling seen, heard, and embraced, the parts of you which struggle can transform into empowering strengths, from which your new story can be written.
